Power outages in NoVA after fire
Update: All power has been restored as of 10:30 a.m., Dominion Power reports.
There's no rest for those weary of power outages in Northern Virginia this summer, it seems. About 15,000 people are still out of power in Alexandria and Fairfax County after a fire truck hit a power line in the Fairfax Station area, WTOP reports.
The Fairfax Fire Department and Dominion have responded to the incident at 9610 Hampton Road, according to Dominion, and the company hopes to have power restored to most customers within an hour.
Dominion is also showing that electricity is out in about 80 households in Arlington off of North Carlin Springs road, but those appear to be unrelated.
While Northern Virginia homes are certainly not the only ones affected by continuing power outages this summer — we all remember Montgomery County's nearly week-long outage at the end of July — parts of Alexandria and Arlington lost power for the better part of a weekend after an Aug. 5 storm.
