So what’s up with all that work going on in front of the Silver Spring Metro Station?
In case you haven’t bothered to read the many signs, or visit Montgomery County’s very informative site on the project (check out all of those photos, and oh, aerial views too!), crews have been working on the Paul S. Sarbanes Silver Spring Transit Center. It will bring 34 new bus bays, extra parking spaces, and eventually a privately-owned residential building and hotel on Wayne Avenue.
Trucks will deliver concrete nightly, between 9 p.m. and 6 a.m., starting next week, according to the county's site. Twenty trucks, to be exact, will bring in about 600 cubic yards of concrete, which would make for a horrible, dusty commute if done during the day.
