If you enter Downtown Silver Spring and look around today, you won't see many signs of the utter chaos that erupted yesterday when a lone gunman  who had a long-standing beef with Discovery took three people hostage inside of the company's headquarters.

Police wrapped yellow tape around the Discovery property at 1 Discovery Place as they continue their investigation, and no pedestrians can walk next to the building. WAMU reports that Discovery employees were able to re-enter the building at 10 a.m. this morning, but only had to stick around until 1 p.m. They have off until after Labor Day.

At about 1 a.m. this morning, police reopened Georgia Avenue and Colesville Road, and Ellsworth Road, which was only open to pedestrians, opened up to foot and vehicular traffic.
