Now that the shiny new Watha T. Daniel-Shaw Library is open to the public, the interim library, located on a patch of concrete in front of the old Shaw Junior High facility, is coming down. Crews were out Friday dismantling the structure and carting it away, piece by piece.
D.C. Public Library spokesperson George Williams is out of the office today, so we don't have an answer just yet to the question of what the city will do with the old trailer now that it's no longer needed.
The interim library first opened in October, 2007.
