If you're craving a little something sweet on your lunch break near Courthouse, head over to the plaza in front of the Arlington County courthouse on North Courthouse Road. The Arlington County Police Department holding a bake sale until 1:30 p.m. today to benefit children's cancer research.

The proceeds from the fund-raiser will go to Children's National Medical Center as part of the "Be Brave and Shave" program. Maybe worth seeing even more than cops peddling cupcakes at a bake sale will be Arlington County Police officers with freshly shaved heads on Nov. 7. (A number of them are promising to shave as part of the fund-raiser, according to a police spokesperson.)
