Crime Report: Cabbies behaving badly

Cab drivers were feisty in Arlington last week, if the police department's weekly crime report is any indication. One cabbie was arrested for malicious wounding and another was accused of assault and battery, according to police.

The malicious wounding happened around 2 a.m. Monday morning when two cab drivers got into a verbal argument in North Arlington. Police report that one driver left, and the other driver then followed him in his cab. Ahmed Odowa, 51, of Falls Church, allegedly "drove his vehicle into the other suspect's cab" on the 200 block of North Cleveland Street, according to the police report.

Odowa also assaulted the other cab driver after the accident He was charged with malicious wounding, according to police. Both men were injured in the altercation, according to police, but the injuries were not life threatening. Odowa was held without bond.

In another incident, a cab driver reportedly attempted to kiss a passenger as she got out of the cab in the 1500 block of Arlington Boulevard at 2:30 a.m. on Oct. 2, according to a police report. The victim was not able to identify the cab company, according to police. No arrest has been made in the case.
