Not one, but two new restaurants from Michael Landrum look to be heading to the Mt. Vernon Triangle neighborhood.
The Triangle blog broke the news today that Landrum, of Ray's the Steaks and Ray's Hell Burger fame, has signed a deal to put one of his restaurants in a 1,200-square-foot space in the CityVista building at 5th and K streets NW. Jessica Bruner, vice president of leasing for CityVista retail owners Edens & Avant, confirms that Landrum has signed a lease for the space, formerly occupied by a T-Mobile store.
But that's not the only concept that Landrum has his eye on at CityVista. Bruner says negotiations are close to being completed for a second, larger Landrum-run restaurant in a spot next to the former Results gym. That's a roughly 2,400-square-foot space that's remained empty since CityVista opened in 2008.
Bruner could not say what the concepts for the two restaurants would be, only that the larger project already has a definitive plan, while the smaller is still undetermined — she says there are two ideas for that space from which Landrum still has yet to choose.
Landrum could not immediately be reached for comment. Bruner says she expects him to announce his plans next week.
