FroZenYo to open three stores in Arlington
D.C. frozen yogurt chain FroZenYo is apparently jumping on the Arlington bandwagon, with stores planned for Ballston, Rosslyn, and Crystal City. The store's owners aren't talking locations yet, but a spokesperson did tell us that they're aiming to open all three in 2011.
Arlington's gotten its share of new yogurt shops in recent months, but FroZenYo brings to the table that special, choose-your-own-adventure brand of sundae making. Cup in hand, you choose from one of a dozen or so types of non-fat yogurt (both tart and sweet), and as many toppings (fruit, candy, cereal, crushed up cones) as you'd like. Then you pay by weight of the masterpiece you've just created, just to make you feel good about yourself.
The Ballston yogurt store would join soon to open Sweetgreen, which serves house-made salads and tart yogurt with a variety of toppings. Red Mango yogurt shop also just opened in Clarendon this summer, meaning with the Rosslyn FroZenYo, you'll manage to be fully covered for fro-yo in the Rosslyn-Ballston corridor.
FroZenYo currently has locations in downtown D.C., Columbia Heights and Friendship Heights.
