IMAX coming to Silver Spring

Silver Spring's Regal Majestic Stadium 20 theater will be getting an IMAX theater screen, according to Jennifer Nettles of Peterson Cos., Downtown Silver Spring's property management company.
We are currently awaiting word on when exactly the screen will be added to the existing theater, but we do know that this will be the first IMAX theater in Montgomery County. IMAX runs screens in nearby Columbia Mall in Howard County.
Downtown Silver Spring's retail options can't really compare to Columbia Mall's plethora of women's and men's clothing stores, but the addition of the IMAX theater to Silver Spring, where the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center and the coming Fillmore are located, gives the area another boost in the competition.

It'll be just one more draw for the throngs that already congregate in that area. No need to compete with Columbia Mall, a purely shopping experience. There is no competition. Downtown Silver Spring wins, hands down.
