The café side of Clarendon's IOTA Club and Café just got a little more true to its name, as the 16-year-old bar and live music venue debuted new hours (starting at 8 a.m.!), coffee service, and an expanded lunch menu this week.

The lunch menu includes a bunch of "smashers" and "swiches" — the smashers mostly being warm sandwiches that involve melted cheese — including several vegetarian options.

IOTA is still putting the finishing touches on its renovation, but once all the work is complete, the food will be available in the café all day and throughout night shows, until 2 a.m.

The café is serving Café Pronto coffee out of Annapolis, and was having its espresso machine installed when we stopped by this morning. There are seats inside, and IOTA has also created an "outdoor" seating area out of the front of the former restaurant side.
