Brickskeller likely to close by next year

- The front of Brickskeller's long and famous paper menu.
Brickskeller owner Diane Alexander says "nothing is definite right now" but the storied beer-stocked restaurant on 22nd Street in Dupont Circle likely won't be open next year. Reports citing unnamed sources put the closing date on Dec. 18, but Alexander wouldn't confirm that date.
Alexander says she isn't sure what would happen with the current two-story space if Brickskeller closes, but "Brickskeller will probably continue in some form at our other location on 7th Street." There, the owners own Regional Food and Drink, another beer-focused restaurant.
The Washington City Paper reported in October that the owners were in negotiations to sell Brickskeller by the end of that month. The report cited an unnamed source who said the building might be turned into a boutique hotel that would preserve the restaurant in some form.
Brickskeller was opened in 1957 by Alexander's family, and has been listed in Guinness World Records for having the largest selection of commercially available beers.

If they move to or do whatever with/at RFD I hope they do something to improve the food there.

People don't go to the Brick for the food. It's the beer selection, among other selections.

never really been impressed with the food at the brick, so no real loss there. i know it's a blasphemy, but the brick is not one of my first choices in DC.
