Product: Nutella latte

Available at: Boccato Gelato, 2719 Wilson Boulevard, Clarendon

Cost: $4

Why you might want it: Have you felt the temps out there? What better way to warm up amid sub-freezing temps and the imminent threat of snow? Or maybe you're just always open to a new use for Nutella.

How it works: The shot of espresso in this warm, toasty treat melts the spoonful of Nutella, to which owner Rob Shelton then adds steamed milk. The bonus? He'll usually offer you the spoon while he's making it. "The coolest thing is getting the spoon," he said. "People are used to it now, so they're like 'where's my spoon?'"

The bottom line: The Nutella latte only includes a small amount of the chocolate-hazelnut paste, making it not nearly as sweet as you'd expect. "There's not too much in there, so it's not too sweet," Shelton says. "You can still taste the espresso."

Pound Coffee, currently at New York Ave Metro soon to be on Penn Ave near Eastern Market, has perfected this drink as well. Worth a visit for comparison's sake. You know. For Scienceā„¢.
