Looks like we'll never get to find out whether there was any merit to allegations briefly levied by a man who claimed he was assaulted by the same employees of DC9 who were initially charged in the death of Ali Ahmed Mohammed.

A destruction of property charge against 21-year-old Georgio Tuccio of Valhalla, N.Y. was dropped by prosecutors Wednesday, court records show. A spokesman for the U.S. Attorney's office said Tuccio has agreed to pay an unknown amount of restitution to DC9 for allegedly punching his arm through a pane of glass inside the club in the early morning hours of Oct. 15.

Tuccio's case came under increased scrutiny because it occurred only about an hour before Mohammed died following an altercation with DC9 employees outside the club. The Washington City Paper reported that Tuccio's attorney intended to present witnesses at trial who would testify that Tuccio was assaulted by the same five men who were arrested in the Mohammed case. All charges in that case were later dropped.

Tuccio's name first surfaced when TBD reported that images of a bloody crosswalk near DC9 published by a number of media outlets, including TBD and The Washington Post, did not depict Mohammed's blood. One possibility is that the blood came from Tuccio, whose arm was badly cut and bleeding when police responded to the scene.
