Snapshots of the wild, weird, and wonderful things you can buy around the D.C. area.

Product: Ear warmers with built-in headphones

Available at: Casual Adventure, 3451 Washington Boulevard, Clarendon

Cost: $35.99 plus tax

Why you might want it: Because your commute is bad enough, and Mother Nature already added snow into the equation. Should you really have to go sans music too?

How it works: The adjustable ear warmers have head phones built into the ear pads and a wire coming out of the back that can attach to a portable music player tucked safely into your jacket. They're ideal for people whose headphones of choice are the large model that don't really work over or under a hat.

The bottom line: These ear warmers are made by 180s, a brand which promises to "allow you to push your performance boundaries, no matter what the level of activity." If that sounds like your jam — or, if you're really mad you can't put your regular earmuffs over normal headphones — these technological ear warmers are probably for you.
