DDOT just sent out a blast announcing an early sign-up opportunity for Capital Bikeshare, the much-ballyhooed, 1,000-bike network launching in September for D.C. and Arlington.

Early registration gets you a $25 discount off the $75 membership fee and a "limited edition" t-shirt and key. (Maybe it's a little golden U-Lock key?)  You also get to tell your grandchildren you were a Capital Bikeshare "Founding Member," if you're one of the first 2,000 to register. All that for a $101 pre-authorization on your credit card.
