Hopkins hospital gunman Paul Warren Pardus was MetroAccess driver, had six traffic violations in VA

- Outside the hospital today.
Metro has confirmed that Paul Warren Pardus, the gunman at Johns Hopkins hospital today, was a MetroAccess driver working under contractor MV Transportation. Pardus, of Northern Virginia, allegedly shot Dr. David B. Cohen, who remains hospitalized. Pardus apparently then killed his mother, Jean Davis, and himself.
Though a quick records search doesn't turn up a criminal history for Pardus, he does have six traffic violations in Virginia going back to 1995, the most recent of which occurred in 2004. He had two tickets for speeding, two for failing to obey highway signs, and another for improper registration.
MetroAccess is WMATA's transportation service for disabled riders. Earlier this week the fourth MetroAccess driver this year was accused of sexual assault, and the contractor, MV Transportation, announced that it would be investigating itself.
Expect a lot of public scrutiny of the service in the coming weeks.
