Dupont hit and run: Read the investigative documents
Below is the criminal complaint and investigative report for yesterday's hit and run near Dupont Circle. Jorida Davidson, 30, of Chevy Chase, Md., is scheduled to be charged in D.C. Superior Court today with voluntary manslaughter in the death of Kiela Ryan. Davidson allegedly hit Ryan, 24, with her SUV and fled the scene near Dupont Circle early yesterday morning. Ryan later died from her injuries.
After a witness supplied the tag number to Davidson's car, Montgomery County police headed to her apartment complex, where they found her inside her car. According to the documents, Davidson was "incapacitated" inside her car and smelled of alcohol, and the bumper, hood, and right side of her car were damaged.
Davidson, who admitted only to driving the car into the garage, was arrested in Maryland for driving under the influence of alcohol. This morning she turned herself in to D.C. police for charges relating to the crash in Dupont.
We'll be sending out some tweets from Davidson's hearing this afternoon: @TBDOnFoot.
