Maryland's new 3-foot law for cyclists (ABC 7 VIDEO)

The other day ABC 7's Ben Eisler went out to College Park to talk to cyclists and drivers about the new 3-foot law. As of Oct. 1, drivers must give bikes a 3-foot berth when passing or face a $500 fine. Cause an accident and it's $1,000.

Predictably, cyclists applauded the new regs. "I like not getting run over," one said.

Also predictably, one driver had a different take on things: "Sometimes the bicyclists, especially the couriers, move so quickly you can't see them, and they’ll swerve around you."
