DDOT's Gabe Klein about to make 'brief announcement,' likely announcing his departure
UPDATE, 9:56 a.m.: @mikedebonis has tweeted confirmation that Klein is indeed leaving. More to follow.
ORIGINAL: DDOT director Gabe Klein will be giving a "brief statement" to reporters this morning at 10:15 a.m. at the Reeves Center. No other details were given from DDOT, but the statement may very well be Klein's announcement of a departure.
There's been a lot of speculation as to whether mayor-elect Vincent Gray would want to keep Klein on board, along with planning director Harriet Tregoning. Klein has built up a devoted following among progressive urbanists, some of whom have lobbied passionately for him since the Committee of 100 recommended Gray drop him.
TBD's Sommer Mathis will be at the Reeves Center for the announcement. Stay tuned.
