Reporting on pedestrian life in the D.C. area

Correction:

As loyal reader IMGoph pointed out, we mistakenly said "Gallaudet stop" when we meant to say "Rhode Island Avenue stop" in the original posting. We regret the error.

Metro is doing some work on the Red and Orange lines this weekend that will lead to some delays and single-tracking.

• One the Red Line, trains will be sharing one track between the Friendship Heights and Van Ness stops starting tonight at 10 p.m. through closing on Sunday night. Add 20 minutes to your travel time if you're passing through there.

• Same goes for the Red Line between the New York Avenue and Rhode Island Avenue stops, where track work will lead to single-tracking and the same 20-minutes delays during the same hours above.

• On the Orange Line, there will be single-tracking between the New Carrollton and Cheverly stations from 10 p.m. tonight through closing on Sunday night. Be ready to add 30 minutes.

• And from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday, every other Orange Line train headed to New Carrollton will end at the Cheverly station and turn back for Vienna.
