His name was Marino Sorto-Reyes. He was 58 years old and lived in Alexandria.

Sorto-Reyes was crossing Richmond Highway near Jana Lee Road around 9:52 p.m. Saturday when he was struck by a Jeep Cherokee driven by a Maryland man who stayed on the scene. Sorto-Reyes died less than an hour later at Inova Fairfax Hospital.

Fairfax County Police are still investigating the crash.
