As kids return to school, the District department of transportation shows how they can receive, activate, and use the reduced-fare ID known as the D.C. One Card, available through the city's School Transit Subsidy Program. The card lets students access the Metro, programs, libraries, recreation, and other benefits with just one card. This year, students in kindergarten through 12th grade will be able to enjoy more online features than ever and can renew their passes at any Metro station. Officials have emphasized how much easier the new system should be for parents and students.
