The Washington Area Bicyclist Association wants you to join them Friday night for a leisurely two-and-a-half mile ride from the Anacostia Metro station as part of their "Bike to the Concert" program. Dancing, food, and drinks await at the end of the biking as people listen to a band called Quietfire at Yards Park. The ride itself will take about 45 minutes or so and sounds like it'll be a great way to relax after a long August week.
WABA asks that you register for the ride. Here's more details about the event from the organizers:
WHAT: Yards Park Concert Ride
WHEN: August 12th, at 5:00PM
WHERE: Meet at the Anacostia Metro Station (Green Line). *Note: Yards Park is three blocks from the Navy Yard Metro Station.
IMPORTANT: Children under 18 must be accompanied by adults and remember helmets are mandatory on all WABA rides!
WABA expects riders will get to Yards Park around 6 p.m., says the event will continue rain or shine, and makes note of the fact that both the starting and ending points of the ride will be near Metro stops (the Anacostia and Navy Yard stations). Enjoy!
