Wish Capital Bikeshare a happy first birthday on September 22

Enthusiasm is building in the District's bicycling community for the first birthday of Capital Bikeshare. The superb bikesharing service will be turning one year old on September 20 and celebrating at Yards Park on the night of Thursday, September 22, which coincides with Car Free Day. Will the service reach a million rides by then as it's hoped? It hit half a million earlier this summer, and ridership has surged throughout the recent summer months.
Capital Bikeshare's momentum shows no sign of slowing down — 32 new stations will be coming to the District this fall and another 30 or so are planned for Arlington.
