D.C. bars make GQ Magazine’s list of best bars in America, Top Chef All-Stars includes three D.C.-area chefs, and 24 secret restaurant menus

Sad news for D.C. Central Kitchen. Nine of the local organization's vehicles were vandalized earlier this week, reports TBD’s Sommer Mathis. This is more than half of the 15 vehicles the organization has on hand, which are needed to make deliveries to partners and other soup kitchens. Police are currently investigating the vans, but the cost of repairs are already expected to take a toll on the their budget. If you would like to donate, see here.

GQ Magazine names PX and Columbia Room among the 25 best cocktail bars in America. PX, headed by Todd Thrasher, is the speakeasy lounge above Eamonn’s a Dublin Chipper in Alexandria, while Columbia Room, run by Derek Brown, is the cocktail addition to The Passenger in Washington, D.C.

David Guas’ Bayou Bakery is scheduled to open in the Courthouse neighborhood of Arlington in November. Guas’ New Orleans style bakery and cafe will be located in the space that formally held Camille’s Sidewalk Cafe at 1515 N. Courthouse Rd. The menu will feature beignets, muffalettas, and pralines.

Chipotle
plans to open a location in Glover Park, reports WCP’s Lydia DePillis. The burrito chain will serve at 2338 Wisconsin Ave. NW, in the spot that formally held Pizza Hut. A Chipotle spokesperson tells DePillis that they plan to open sometime in early 2011.

Noodles & Co. is opening a location in Leesburg next month, reports WBJ’s Missy Frederick. The noodle shop will be located at 1607 Village Market Rd.

A sneak peak inside Cuba Libre with Metrocurean.

Construction at 3418 11th St., NW next to Columbia Heights Coffee is progressing, reports Prince of Petworth. Details on exactly what the new store will be are still unclear, but PoP says Gronning Architects is the company that’s working on the venue. According to their website, past projects include Commonwealth, Cork Wine Bar, Palena, and Pizzeria Paradiso.

Top Chef All-Stars will feature three DC-area chefs, reports Metrocurean. Carla Hall, Mike Isabella, and Spike Mendelsohn will participate in the first ever Top Chef All-Star season, premiering Dec. 1.  More exciting news: No Reservations star Anthony Bourdain will join as a regular judge this season.

The Source’s Chef Scott Drewno won two awards at the American Institute of Food and Wine's 5th annual I Love Crab Cakes, reports DCist. Drewno took home both the people's choice award and top honores from the judges' panel for his BLT sandwich. The event was held last Monday at Phillips Seafood at the Southwest Waterfront.
