Psst…Halloween is this weekend. Did it sneak up on you? If so, no worries. Its not too late to make plans. We’ve got a list of treats to get you howling a great time around the town. Here’s the rundown on Halloween restaurant and bar specials in the area.
Thursday, Oct. 28
• Oyamel
What: Celebrate the Dia de los Muertos at Oyamel. It’s a Mexican tradition of celebrating the dead and enticing souls to linger with food, drink, and festivities.
When: Oct. 25 to Nov. 2
The deal: Chef Joe Raffa will offer creative takes on traditional dishes. There will be new featured cocktails and a menu showcasing the Siete Moles de Oaxaca.
• Urbana
What: Veuve Clicquot’s 26th Annual ‘Yelloween’ Party.
When: Thursday, Oct. 28; 4 p.m. to midnight
The deal: Celebrate with champagne specials, all-night food and drink happy hour, tarot-card readers, and a costume competition featuring champagne and dinner prizes.
Other: Happy hour prices on drinks, and small plates will be available to all guests from 4 p.m. to close.
Friday, Oct. 29
• Evening Star Cafe
What: Halloween Costume Party at No. 9 Lounge
When: Friday, Oct. 29; 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
The deal: Celebrate Halloween with costumes, festivities, and prizes.
Other: The evening will feature at a D.J. spinning tunes in the upstairs lounge.
Saturday, Oct. 30
• American Tap Room
What: Halloween Party at American Tap Room
When: Saturday, Oct. 30, 10 p.m. to close
The deal: Celebrate Halloween at American Tap Room (Bethesda or Reston locations)
Other: The event will feature a D.J., food and drink specials, and giveaways
• Buddha Bar
What: DC’s Villains & Vixens Halloween Extravaganza
When: Saturday, Oct. 30; 10 p.m. to 3 a.m.
The deal: Guests are encouraged to dress as their favorite “bad guy” to participate in a high-stakes costume contest. The winner will receive a $500 gift certificate to the restaurant; the runner up will receive a bottle of Dom Perignon Champagne; and the third place finalist will receive a bottle of Ketel One Vodka.

What: Halloween Party at Masa 14
When: Saturday, Oct. 30; 5 p.m. to 2 a.m.
The deal: Masa 14 is hosting a costume party. Regular dinner service will be available along with a variety of specials in their Tequila Lounge.
Other: The evening will feature tequila specials ranging from $5-7 dollars and scary-themed empanadas for $6 dollars. Patrons are encouraged to attend in costumes for a chance to win a $100 dollar gift certificate.
• Columbia Firehouse
What: Haunted Dance Party
When: Saturday, Oct. 30; 9 p.m. to 1:30 a.m.
The deal: Celebrate Halloween with a costume and haunted dance party in the atrium at Columbia Firehouse.
Other: The evening will include specialty drinks and prizes for the best costumes.

What: “Where’s Waldo” Theme Party
When: Saturday, Oct. 30; 9 p.m. to 12 a.m.
The deal: Celebrate Halloween in disguise at Vermilion. Guests are encourage to participate in the restaurant's costume contest for prizes.
Other: The evening will feature live music and Halloween-themed food and drink specials.

The deal: Celebrate Halloween like a true Parisian. Alliance Française presents circus acts including juggler Michael Rossman, circus films, dancing, and a costume competition.

What: ChurchKey Halloween Costume Contest

The deal: Celebrate Halloween with a costume contest at ChurchKey. The winner will be announced at midnight and will win a special large format beer.
Other: Food and drink specials will be included, and horror movies will be screened throughout the evening.

What: Halloween Party at the Clarendon Grill
When: Saturday, Oct. 30
The deal: Clarendon Grill is hosting a Halloween costume contest. Gonzo’s Nose will be performing at 10 p.m.
Other: Prizes for costume contest: 1st place wins $150, 2nd place wins $100, and 3rd place wins $50.

The deal: Celebrate Halloween with a costume contest at the Country Club. The evening will feature an extended happy hour, drink and food specials, and prizes.

The deal: Whitlow’s is hosting a Halloween costume contest. The evening will feature live music by The Cheaters.

The deal: Liberty Tavern is hosting a costume contest.

What: Halloween Festivities at Cafe Dupont and Bar Dupont
When: Oct. 31, All day
The deal: Adult guests who come in costumes will get a complimentary drink, while kids will receive a sweet treat. After brunch, served from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m., there will be a pumpkin-carving contest, with all materials supplied.

What: Pumpkin Carving Contest
When: Sunday, Oct. 31, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
The deal: Red Derby is hosting their annual pumpkin carving contest. Participants can carve from 7-9 p.m. The judging will take place from 9-9:30 p.m. Winners will be announced at 9:30 p.m.
Other: $1 Pabst Blue Ribbon from 7-9 p.m.
• Topaz Bar
What: Heaven and Hell Halloween Party at Topaz Bar
When: Sunday, Oct. 31, 8 p.m. to 12 a.m.
The deal: Topaz Bar is hosting a Halloween Party with an all-night happy hour and complimentary treats.
Other: A free drink will be offered to those dressed in an angel or devil costume.
• 2941 Restaurant
What: Celebrate Halloween with “Eye Scream” at 2941 Restaurant
When: Throughout the month of October
The deal: 2941 Pastry chef Anthony Chavez designed a special “Eye Scream” dessert in honor of Halloween. Valrhona white chocolate, pistachio mousse and raspberry-lychee coulis create the frighteningly delicious dish.
Other: “Eye Scream” is priced at $15 and presented on a bed of dry ice to resemble a pair of smoking eyeballs.
