Pizza No. 17 and Naked Pizza
The space at 1523 17th St. NW, has been transformed from Pasha Bistro to Pizza No. 17 in under two months. The new eatery recently held a free pizza tasting for the public. And according to PoP, the owners say they hope to officially open early next week.
Over in Virginia, ARLnow reports that Naked Pizza will be taking over the former Pizza Milano space at 1101 S. Joyce St. According to the Washington Business Journal, the New Orleans-based all-natural pizza chain sees potential for up to 25 locations in the Washington, D.C. area. In addition to the Arlington space, the company has already secured deals on four other locations — Bethesda, Reston, McLean, and Foggy Bottom. The owners hope to have the first store open by April.
Oh, the food trucks...
Austin Grill’s food truck is ready to roll and plans on serving at Georgetown Law and Gallery Place Chinatown tomorrow. The menu will feature some items similar to their restaurant menu, including burritos, burgers, and Austin wings.
The Arlington-base food cart Tasty Kabob will be rolling out into District in an actual truck on Monday, says Food Truck Fiesta. The cart is usually stationed around Courthouse, Rosslyn, or Pentagon and serves Middle Eastern-style fare, including kabobs and gyros.
Before the doors to barbecue restaurants Hill Country and Standard opened this past weekend, Carnivore BBQ rolled out onto the streets first. In fact, according to Washingtonian, the truck, featuring pulled pork, smoked chicken, and beef brisket has been serving at Maryland farmers markets for nearly three years before making its District debut.
