The Redskins have signed seven of the players they waived yesterday to their practice squad and have one spot remaining.

Wide receiver Terrence Austin, linebacker Rob Jackson, running back Ryan Torain, safety Anderson Russell and offensive linemen Erik Cook, Selvish Capers and Will Robinson all were signed to Washington's practice squad a day after they were released from the team as part of the cuts that reduced the roster to 53 players.

Austin, whom Washington drafted in the seventh round out of UCLA in April, was the team's leading receiver during the preseason with 10 catches for 146 yards and a touchdown.

Jackson had six tackles and a sack during the preseason.

Torain was the team's leading rusher in the preseason with 94 yards on 28 carries.

Capers and Cook were both drafted in the seventh round of the 2010 draft, but remain works in progress. Robinson, entering his second NFL season, appeared in one game for Washington last season.

The team returns to practice tomorrow and will begin preparation for the season opener Sunday night against Dallas.
