Report: T.J. Houshmandzadeh signs with the Ravens
Updated: 3:08 p.m.: Take Baltimore's Mark Clayton off the list. He, according to ESPN, has been traded to St. Louis.
Well, Redskins fans, those of you hoping to see T.J. Houshmandzadeh in the Burgundy and Gold can kiss that idea good-bye.
ESPN is reporting that wide receiver T.J. Houshmandzadeh has reached an agreement with the Baltimore Ravens, signing a one-year deal for $855,000. Of course, the Seattle Seahawks, who released Houshmandzadeh a few days ago, still owe the receiver $6.15 million.
Signing with Baltimore comes as a surprise considering multiple outlets had reported that Houshmandzadeh was narrowing his choice down to the Redskins and Ravens, but they must've had the wrong 'R' mascot.
The move only further upgrades a Baltimore offense that already features receivers Anquan Boldin, Derrick Mason and Donte' Stallworth.
The non-move on Washington's part is further indication that Dan Snyder and Vinny Cerrato are indeed no longer in charge at Redskins Park. If Washington had've been more than mildly interested in Houshmandzadeh, he would've been in Ashburn some time early Sunday morning.
But names obviously don't influence Mike Shanahan. It also means one or two things: that the Redskins believe they have enough at receiver for now, or that they have someone else on their radar.
Other receivers remain available. Mark Clayton now is rumored to be expendable in Baltimore. And Michael Clayton, who has ties to Bruce Allen from their days in Tampa Bay, also is on the streets after Saturday's cuts.
What do you think? Are Santana Moss, Joey Galloway, Devin Thomas, Anthony Armstrong, Brandon Banks and Roydell Williams enough? Or should another wideout be brought in?

The Skins obviously could've used someone like Houshmadzadeh. It would've also allowed Devin Thomas to line up in the slot, where I believe he'd be most productive. This seems less like disinterest on the part of Bruce Allen and Shanahan and more like Houshmandzadeh believing he has a better shot at a Super Bowl with Baltimore. At 32 and having been stuck on subpar teams his entire career, one would assume he has serious championship aspirations.
