TBD offering free workshop of Social Media for Bloggers
Bloggers know reaching out on social media is important for getting readers to their sites - but who has the time to keep up with all of those profiles and updates?
It's with that in mind that TBD and American University present the workshop "Social Media for Bloggers" this Saturday from 10 am to noon at AU's Wechsler Theater (Mary Graydon Center room 315).
This will be the second session in our series of blogging workshops -- and will be taught by yours truly.
I'll be going over lots of different ways bloggers can better communicate with readers and market their work on the social web, including:
- Best uses for Twitter in sharing content and gathering info
- Using Foursquare to share your expertise
- Setting up Facebook for both work and play
- Breaking into the Digg and Reddit communities
- And lots of other stuff...
If there's a particular social media tool or question you'd like answered in this session, please let me know or leave a comment below. If you'd like to attend this event, please RSVP on our Facebook page or email me at mjenkins[AT]tbd.com.
So why am I teaching this and not some professor type? While I'm not a believer in the idea of anyone being an "expert" in social media - I have a lot of experience messing around with it as the social media producer for TBD. I was also once the social media editor for the Cincinnati Enquirer - and I write a blog on social media and journalism. In short: I'm a nerd for this stuff.
I hope you'll join me this Saturday.
