Do's and Don'ts:

Don't say I know your depressed they will deny it (BTDT) knowing and loving a friend that is depressed is a difficult thing for you too. I have been fighting depression for many years and hearing that I am loved and supported is the best medicine. Practice good listening skills so that she will be able to sense that you are there for her. When she talks give her all your attention, that is the best listening skill there is. Wait for her to talk sometimes it takes a troubled soul a long while to tell someone. And whatever you do make sure that what you tell her will not be spoken about to others.

Say This:

I see that something is really bothering you. I want you to know that I care about and love you and if you need to talk I'm here for you.
