Say This:

One problem is that not all doctors will tell the senior not to drive, unless it is a medical condition that they are required to notify the state about and the license is taken away.

Elderly people a lot of times feel that they are being phased out and their freedoms are being taken away, so they resist.

If you know that the senior's driving is a harm to himself or others there are some things that you can do.

In California on the DMV website they address senior driving and there are additional testing.

You can notify the DMV in writing of your concerns about a dangerous driver.

If you can't get the keys away from the person; remove the spark plugs.

You may also want to contact their insurance company as well.

BUT if you take driving away from them, what are you going to do to replace it? Are you going to organize multiple drivers to assist? Are you going to find out if there is elderly or handicap shuttles in their community, and sign them up?

Talk to your dad about your concerns and if that doesn't work talk to his doctor and the department of trans in your state.
