Say This:

nothing - then go out to the vehicle and pull the coil, unhook the battery, whatever it takes to immobilize the vehicle. More important, inform any mechanically inclined out of town relatives who come to stay with the senior, NOT TO FIX THE CAR!!!

How do I know this - I visited my grandmother some years back and she complained that she couldn't drive her car, so what did I do. . . fixed it - The relatives that lived near her were very mad at me but damn I didn't know her driving habits were like the little old lady from Pasadena. In other words she was a lead footed terror. It all ended well, What one woman can do, that same woman can easily undo. I didn't agree with their strategy but heck it worked.
