What would you say in this situation?
My friend is in the end-stages of cancer. I want to say something helpful or comforting to him.

Do's and Don'ts:

Don't search for any profound statement or comforting words. Just say what is in your heart and what is real to you. The time to let someone know what they mean to you is now. Do spend time with your friend. Ask about the reality of his day to day life. Bring photos of things you did together or other memory provoking things.

Say This:

How are you doing today? I want you to know I care about you, and really value the time we spend together. How is your pain level? What do you want to do today?
