Say This:

This is a Big League question. Being completely honest with your kid (and vice verse) is an admirable trait. If not being honest serves a laudable objective such as preventing your kid from making a big mistake), then lying your ass off is comendable. We want our children not to make mistakes we made (I'll bet our grandparents felt the same way). All that said, I think doing what will improve your relationship with your kid is the way to go. Just don't take the sleazy Bill Clinton way out (I smaked but didn't inhale, I did not have sex with that woman, or what I hope he will be remembered for, "That depends on what the meaning of the word is, is).
