Do's and Don'ts:

Do not think that you can save your sister before she is ready to save herself. Do not give her money, even a little for a little while. Do set a boundary: you won't see her when she is under the influence, you won't talk to her -- whatever your boundary is, set it and stick to it.

Say This:

I love you and I cannot stand seeing what you are doing to yourself. I will support your efforts to stop drinking -- I'll take you to an AA meeting, I'll take you to a rehab facility. But I will not support your denial of the problem.
