Do's and Don'ts:

I'm a beat-around-the-bush kind of person... and I find it easier to make light of serious situations, so this is the actual conversation I had with my dad. But if you can be direct, I think that's the best approach.

Say This:

Dad, I read this article in Time magazine the other day about people having diamonds created out of their ashes. And I was talking about it with a friend when I realized I don't know what you and Mom would want us to do when the time comes... Have you guys talked about it? Do you know what you want us to do? I want to cry thinking about this, but I really want to make sure I know what you want.
