Do's and Don'ts:

If the doctor is required to report, find out what and keep your mouth zipped and research interactions on your own. If the doctor promises confidentiality, spill it, and tell it all. It may help if you mention Marijuana was just legalized in Michigan for medicinal purposes. Perhaps if you are in a state where that is the case, you can get a prescription.

Say This:

I know as a doctor this is not going to make you very happy, but as a patient I am concerned about possible interactions if I am not completely honest with you about the herbs and over-the-counter drugs I use, so let me ask you, are you required by law to report anything I tell you to anyone?
