Do's and Don'ts:

As a general rule, parents are an unselfish sort when it comes to their children. While they may be uncomfortable talking about their own funeral, they would be more open to the idea of helping you, as their child.

Say This:

Although it may not seem like it, I've worked very hard to become a successful adult and one that you would be proud of. Since I've matured, I've come to realize that my children/spouse/job aren't my only responsibilities. You, as my parents whom I love dearly, will one day become my responsibility as well. Now while this may be a touchy subject for you, perhaps we can discuss this so that I might be able to better understand my future obligations. You've always done your best for me, and I want to be able to be sure and do my best for you when that time comes.
