| The internet, creative...(Posted 302 days ago)Do's and Don'ts:Do: Prior to leaving the last position, if possible, get a list of what you did "right" and what skills were not in sync with that companies needs. Keep it impersonal: job requirements and needs. Don't: Do not make it personal on either end. It was the job that didn't fit you, not the other way around. You are fine, you just need the right job. Keep it positive and you wont burn a bridge. Say This:I want to be upfront and mention that I was terminated from my last position. I would like to provide you with the initial job requirements list and how those requirements altered and consequently became not appropriate for my skill set. This second page outlines my skills based on the job requirements you have illustrated and I'm confident that I am a great fit for your position. May I answer any questions you may have about this. |
