Keiland Williams: Still my dark horse running back
My dark horse to make the team at running back, Keiland Williams of LSU, faces a lot of competition to make the team. There is Clinton Portis, Larry Johnson, Willie Parker and Ryan Torain all ahead of him on the tailback depth chart. However, he is also in the mix to earn a spot on the roster as a kick returner, and the rookie has turned enough heads to be considered a possibility to crack the roster, or possibly earn a spot on the practice squad.

Wizards 2010-11 schedule released
The Washington Wizards have released their 2010-11 regular season schedule, which begins October 28 against the Magic in Orlando, a game televised nationally on TNT. Two nights later the Wizards play another road division game against a playoff team, the Atlanta Hawks. The Wiz make their home debut at Verizon Center on November 2 against the Philadelphia 76ers.

Starting tackle Jammal Brown to receive hip injection
Starting right tackle Jammal Brown was held out of practice for a seventh straight day this morning at Redskins training camp, and coach Mike Shanahan said Brown will be receiving an injection into his sore left hip and isn’t likely to return to action until Sunday or Monday at the earliest.

New traffic signals make it safer for pedestrians – USA Today The HAWK (High intensity Activated crossWalK) traffic signal on Van Dorn Street near my condo was featured the story linked above. HAWK signals are getting more common now, but the one near me was the first on the East Coast.
