Depression is a nightmare and follows you everywhere. It's also contagious .. those who have significant others or family & friends must live with the depression. That's almost as bad as being depressed.
However, when used in conjunction with an MD, SRI's can be a significant benefit and deliver a new quality of life.

I, too, left my ex-BF and know how much better I am for it. It finally got to the point where I thought: If I end the relationship I will lose him and lose "us", but if I stay in it, I will lose Myself!
Jon.. Happy for you that you turned things around. Enjoy that vacation .. sounds like you deserve it. It's hard work to get our lives back on track, and so worth it.

Patricia, that was a traumatic experience~ no wonder you had trouble recovering from it inside....
My niece was in an accident with her Dad and a GF her freshman year of high school. They were sitting at a red light signal, and a big rig ran over them. The wheels of the rig started chewing away the hood of the truck, then the engine compartment... it kept coming until the driver realized something was wrong. The wheels stopped inside the passenger compartment, literally inches away from them.
She was terrified of riding in a vehicle for years, steadfastly refused to learn to drive until she was 18 and then they had to convince her that she must learn to drive in order to grow her wings....
Her Dad was freaked out because he used to be a long-distance hauler, driving all over the US.
Talk about three people who need to do a happy dance daily....
