Someone asked me about Bluegrass music a while ago, I wanted to give them some useful information so I looked up several sources.

Now, being from Kentucky, I know Bluegrass when I hear it. But I couldn't hear it in any of the links.

For those of you who may know it only by definition, now you can know it by feel.

Fromz: I used to live in Jackson and I can't say that I ever heard any Bluegrass while there. Very characteristic American, and American regional music.

True, and if I relied on what I've learned about music in Jackson, I'd barely know about blues even though Morgan Freeman's juke joint is about an hour up the road in Clarksdale. (Within spitting distance, literally, of teh famous Crossroads.)

That makes it all the more interesting that the subject came up because we were talking about a festival on the Coast next weekend. Small, one day thing, but still Bluegrass on the sea so to speak.

It doesn;t have all the events but if you;re looking for one near you, this site may help: http://www.bluegrassworks.com/events.php
