Much as I hate muddying the water with facts, I gotta say it:
Yes, I am aware how terribly high student loan rates ha...
So the loans were handled like so many other loans. If you still owe money, the rate you pay on what you owe went up when the rate went up. If that is the case, it was that way before Bush..
It would appear someone did not take advantage fo consolidating at a fixed rate, also been there since before Bush and will be available after.
Not everyone in this discussion has any reason to know about college loans. That is why I clarified that there is no FAFSA loan.
P.S. Tks White ;-)

Jacquin:
I read Fromz as somewhere right of "Atilla the Hun". But, that is an "opinion" and is not a proved fact.

Well if I can read his last post correctly it would be directed at my children and he would be assuming they were in college before Bush. Wrong again! And yes they did consolidate at a fixed when they had a chance. The irony to me of going around and around with the type of mentality that I sense from Fromz is that all that mentality does is push people away. I would think if people such as that think their perspective is so darn right on they would want to present it in a manner which would be less adversive. I am at the point that if he told me my moniker was jacquin I would change the moniker. If he could only imagine the image I have in my head of what he must look like behind his racoon face. It is not a pretty picture.

when I started this thread a few months ago it seemed like we were heading toward a recession
now it seems we are actually in one
while gas prices have gone down some, it is still hard for many families to get by
now all of the anger seems to be vented toward those who do not agree with us as to who the next President should be
I want to feel hopeful, but with so much fear, hatred, ignorance swirling around out there right now it is hard to hope
So I am wishing that once we have a new President there will be a coming-together of everyone, regardless of who you voted for. We need to get our act together and being vengeful will accomplish nothing.
So I am hoping for less anger. I am wishing for hopefulness. I am looking for solutions.

Hi Roxley,
Having just filled the car up with petrol about an hour ago, I thought you might just be interested to learn what we pay for the same stuff as you.
$7.558 per US gallon (I've just done a couple of conversion calculations to get that right).
I hope that figure makes you feel a little happier!
hmmm. dont you have free health care also? I believe some of the taxes you all pay on gas goes toward that, if im not mistaken.
I just had 2 MINOR back operations (ans I stress MINOR - 2 hours long and I walked out of the hospital). $60,000 each within one week.
Trade ya!
