Accents and sexual arousal (and other things)

This thread is how foreign accents influence male sexual arousal. I also discuss how accents influence us in other ways, and how images and sounds experienced during early adolescence influence our attraction or lust for certain types throughout our lives. I know thats a load, and it's going to take some doing to organize it all. Perhaps others will comment and help me out.

Accents in American film and theater.

Throughout film, theater, and television history one of the devices employed to identify a foreigner or a villain was the use of accents. Since English is spoken in the U.S., the obvious first choice was British.

Think back to the earliest American made "talkies," or films with sound. The device used to identify villains was frequently their accent. Many villains from outer-space were given English accents. It wasn't until WWII that the trend moved to German. Sometimes it was an obvious choice. When the music dramatically changed as the villain picked up a phone and began speaking German, you knew this was a bad guy! A spy! Later, with the cold-war, Russian accents were often used. (references needed if anyone can think of specifics.) English accents became lovable characters. Whether it was John Cleese or Marty Feldman, or Eliza Doolittle and Trevor Howard. We like them instantly. Now, and English accent is more often associated with a friend (with a few exceptions such as the villains in the Die Hard series.)

This trend was found in cartoons as well. And that is where this discussion turns, and where my ideas originate.

Sounds and Images associated with puberty.

Probably one of my earliest instances of spontaneous penile tumescence occurred listening to Natasha on the Rocky and Bullwinkle show. I don't remember the occasion really, but there is some cloudy sexual something there in my memory. Later, when I was old enough to recognize what was going on, it was Samantha Stevens, then Jeannie.

The result? (If I may be so bold.) I'm a sucker for an eastern European accent. I wonder if the voice of Natasha was really a Czech or Slovak, because they give me goosebumps. I could listen to a Slovak gal all day and never hear a word she said. I could however tell you all about her mouth, her eyes, her hair, and her scent. They don't even have to speak English to interest me. Slovakian is music to me, and one of the first languages I studied as an adult.

Samantha Stevens? I'm not a lingerie guy, which I've always wondered about. Why are other guys interested in lingerie? When I was an adolescent, lingerie was no more racy than that found in a J.C. Pennys catalog. (Which I later discovered was popular bathroom reading to other males my age at the time.) Put a gal in a conservative, just above the knees skirt and a string of pearls and suddenly I'm interested, real interested. Samantha's wholesome all-American image is another stimulant. Think Reese Witherspoon.

My nanny was African-American, and way beyond the age of adolescent fantasy. She was more of a mother figure. What if she'd been a younger Mexican woman?

Implications

I wonder if anyone ever considered these implications when selecting personnel for overseas assignment?

I wonder what turns other guys heads, besides the obvious. Do you see a correlation between your lusts or fantasies and the imagery and sounds you were exposed to as an early adolescent?
