sigh.
What is an otter stuck in a tree waiting to be rescued. Someone comes along to rescue the otter & gets stuck as well. Now, the 2 of them are waiting to be resuced.
Someone sees them & calls the fire dept. But the one who made the call is drunk and needs to be rescued. The firemen need to be rescued as well.
Can I have another margarita now?
sigh.

Sorry, we're just being silly here. No worries, the actual "event" will be nothing like this.
If you read the writing in the links listed up top, you'll see we were quite serious the first time and responded to the ideas individually - no group jokes.
So glad you are joining us on May 1.

lostmutt,
The holiday commemorates an initial victory of Mexican forces led by General Ignacio Zaragoza Seguín over French forces in the Battle of Puebla on May 5, 1862.
According to a paper published by the UCLA Center for the Study of Latino Health and Culture, about the origin of the observance of Cinco de Mayo in the United States, the modern American focus on that day first started in California in the 1800s in response to the resistance to French rule in Mexico. The paper notes that "The holiday, which has been celebrated in California continuously since 1863, is virtually ignored in Mexico."
Those Gringos, they need more tequila and then maybe they could figure out the correct Mexican Independence Day...Sept 16th!!!!
But then it makes me wonder why Mexicans in California celebrate it anyway, when they lost Northern Mexico to the EuroAmericans.
Well unfortunately I am unable to remove the picture. It seems that some TBD's have an issue with it.....suggesting that it is RACIST. Get real...btw I am hispanic.
Please drop the Racist subject, this thread was not intended for it, as far as this group, I'm outta here.
