I know this is old news, but I am still curious what people think. Anyone hear any buzz about what the writers were thinking?

I've not seen most of the last season, I need to find the re-runs and watch them.

I can't wait to see them all...

The ending was left incomplete intentionally. It doesn't matter what happened to him. The entire series was a slice of life of fictional criminals. All of his associates are dead or brain dead; he is cut loose from his support system - Dr Melfi, his son is turning into the next Christofuh, his daughter is leaving the family for her own life, the wife has become independent and probably could live well without him - she has a large family support system. It just doesn't matter if Tony is physically dead at the end of the series - his lifestyle is over. All that will be left is whether his son will kill him before someone else does. The mobs in NY are in the same condition. The war of attrition left them without ruthless leadership.

This is how Shakespeare intended it to be! Tony is simply the last man standing and he is spiritually and economically dead.

You got a prollem wid dat? Fuggeddaboudit!
