I enjoy my friends' dogs, but I'm a "cat" person. My latest kitty is Minnie the Menace, and I have bonded with her more profoundly than I can remember with any other of my dear feline friends.

Well, Minnie got sexually mature and met a guy before I knew what was going on, and now I have grandkittens. They are six weeks old, and, at the point that I should be thinking about giving them away, I am getting to know their personalities and feel my heart breaking about the idea.

It scares me that if these guys live as long as my Twinkie, who's 22, that I might die and leave them.

My beagle Daisey saved my life after I fell and hit my head on the tile in the bathroom.

I was knocked unconscious and she kept nudging me and trying to wake up my now ex husband.

I barely survived due to blood loss but thanks to her I am fine after a long battle through brain damage.

Two weeks after that Daisey ate a poisonous frog and was near death in my closet. I found her barely breathing and gave her mouth to snout while my friend drove us to the vets office. She is fine today and I love her so much for her unconditional love and comic relief.
