I think this is good idea. I am not much of writer.
To me this looks like a rain day in big city in Asia some where.

Welcome, teacup.
Even if you are not much of writer, no one is when they start - this is where you can learn. We write stories, poems, essays and help each other express ourselves creatively through the written word.

Last night I attended a women of achievement award ceremony. A woman I went to high school with was receiving one of the awards. We didn't even know each other back then, but over the last few years connected @ various business events. It's was the most positive, uplifting experience.
My friend gave such a heartfelt speech about her stuggles with depression and how difficult life can be. I never knew that about her. She is this accomplished, beautiful woman who did not attend the 30th HS reunion on Saturday & I raved about how well she is doing & this award. I was crying @ the table. Afterwards I gave her a hug to tell her how proud I was of her and how truly inspirational she is.
One woman lost her only son in an auto accident and is involved in organ donation programs. She told the story of how after the accident, 11 lives were saved from her son's death. She put her hand on the chest of the recipient of his heart & felt it beating. Not a dry eye in the house. Her powerful closing statement is that sometimes out of something so negative, there can be something very positive.
A former Olympic figure skater from Russia told how she moved here 6 years ago with only knowing the words "hello" and "thank you". In the most adorable accent she thanked table #7 for teaching her how to speak english, drive and raise her kids in this country.
After 6 days of writing about evil and hearing the story of some of these women last night, life is quite a struggle, but what an amazing ride.

Spuff, I wish I could give you more than one inspirational kudo for this post.
May be we should have one more day about Evil and what good could come out of evil's actions.
Because there was a lot of it in your friend's life.
Thank you

Meditation from the book "Less Than One" by Joseph Brodsky: "The surest defense against evil is extreme individualism, originality of thinking, whimsicality --even if you will, eccentricity . . . Evil is a sucker for solidarity. It always goes for big numbers, for confident granite, for ideological purity, for drilled armies and balance sheets."
