Does anyone have a favorite Progressive Rock concept album ? Some that come to mind are Pink Floyd's Dark side of the Moon and The Wall, Styx - Kilroy was Here, Yes, Tales from Topographic Oceans and Progressive Metal bands Queensryche, Operation Mindcrime and Spock's Beard, Snow. Concept albums were usually Multi-albums with a common theme or story and drove record executive's crazy because they took so long to produce.

c of s,
sorry I didn't see this post first. I started a best album post and listed Rush 2112, that would have fit better here. let me add another comment here. anyone heard of Coheed and Cambria? they have been doing a five album series that is a long sci-fi story. very talented! the singer sounds alot like Geddy Lee.

Not a problem uun1, this is all just for fun anyway. How could I've forgotten 2112 ? That 5 album series does sound interesting and I love Rush. Also, this isn't progressive rock, but I heard today that Judas Priest will be releasing their first ever concept album in June, a double disc about Nostradamus.

It's ok, i did the same thing. In my other post, I mentioned several albums from Alan Parsons Project. Most of the early albums were concept albums

My favorite Floyd album was A Delicate Sound of Thunder which was a double disc live album.

Quadrophenia. and also Tommy, tho it got played so much it was easy to get sick of. pete townshend also carried on the theme idea when he recorded "White City'. he probably did more than that but i had stopped listening, tho i still love him as a musician.
remember rick wakeman? 'journey to the centre of the earth'?
i am trying to remember--was mountain's album 'nantucket sleigh ride' a concept album? i think not but it was so long ago..........
